The leading organs of the ASA are:

The Assembly is the highest leading organ of the Academy of Sciences of Albania. It is made up of permanent members of the Academy, the directors of its Scientific Institutions, plus an elected professor of these Institutions, of a four-year mandate, elected the respective Scientific Councils, by secret voting. The Assembly decides on the other important scientific problems, approves the Constitution and eventual amendments.

It examines and approves the long-term programs of its scientific activities.
It takes decisions on other important matters of scientific and organizing character.
It approves the Status and the changes in it.
It reviews and approves the report of the Presidency on its overall activity.
It approves scientific Awards to distinguished scientists.
It elects by secret voting the President, the two Vice-Presidents of the ASA, for a four-year mandate, whereas the Scientific Secretary, for a five-year mandate.

The Presidency is made up of four members of the Assembly: the President, two Vice-Presidents and the Scientific Secretary General. The President and the two Vice-Presidents are elected once in four years, whereas the Scientific Secretary General once in five years. The Assembly elects the Presidency.

He deals with the relations to the Government; represents the Academy of Sciences in international activities and supervises the activities of the Institution.

The Vice-Presidents supervises and coordinates the activities of the Scientific Sections approves their planes and check up the results of their work.

The Scientific Secretary General follows up the application of the decisions of the Assembly and of the Presidency; prepares their meetings; compiles the plans and the reports of the Academy
